The man in this picture lifted up his shirt to show the huge scar across his stomach. He had fought with a family member who, in a drunken rage, stabbed him and his wife. The man and his wife were left in very critical condition and the villagers first response - they called the local pastor from the boys home nearby. They had remembered what God had done at the well and they hoped that this pastor and his God would be able to perform another miracle. The pastor rushed to the village in the middle of the night and took this man and his wife to the nearest hospital. Once he was there he called the pastors from nearby Mumbai and he asked them and their congregations to pray for this couple. These pastors prayed - but they put their prayers into action and every congregation took up a collection to pay for this couple's medical bills. As you can see in the picture - the man survived.
This was just one of the dozens of moments that God spoke to me while I was there. These Christians, who have nothing, still gave to save the life of a man they had never met in a village outside of their city. This pastor stayed up all night praying for this couple. These believers were the first people the non-believing members of this village called when there was a crisis.
Can I say the same thing for myself? Would I give my last dollar to save the life of someone I might not ever meet. Would I stay up all night praying for God to perform a miracle. Would I be the first person to get a call when I crisis hit simply based off of my faith in Jesus.
We all want to be a part of something greater - and there is a greater story still unfolding. God is working around the world in powerful ways. Would you consider taking a trip with us and joining in with what He's already doing? Would you consider praying for this village and these followers of Jesus?
