I hope you've already been praying about the part you'll play in this project. I also hope that you've had a chance to read the few blog posts that I've written about what God is already doing in this small village just outside Mumbai.
Right now, we're still working through all the details of the trip - but a rough guess of the dates and projects that we might be a part of while we're there look like this (and let me stress these are not concrete plans!)
- We're shooting for the second or third week of March 2011. The trip would most likely leave on a Friday and come back the next Saturday or Sunday (so it would possibly be an 8-9 day trip)
- Depending on how far along the work is on the new boys home / clinic - we might do some construction projects
- We might do an after school program with the boys from the boys home
- We will engage in Luke 10 evangelism in the surrounding villages (going door to door, meeting people and sharing the Gospel with them)
- We might do some evangelism training and spend some time encouraging the believers in Mumbai
Within the next couple weeks I will post another update with some more details including cost and what you can do to begin fundraising for this trip. Keep praying!
Here's the number one rule when approaching this and any missions trip - this will be our slogan during this whole process: "Be flexible!" Plans will constantly change before and during the trip - but God is in control!
